Babe has been adopted

Just when we though Baloo would sit in the Throne by himself, Babe comes along to steal some of his thunder. Baloo has thunder to spare and is happy to share throne or at least the foot stool to the throne. Babe is a Neapolitan Mastiff-which are very rare and very desirable-whom we rescued from the Bakersfield Shelter. He was languishing there and was in terrible shape when we picked him up: Mastiffs just don’t do well in the eat and the confines, especially when they’re sick. Taking one look at him and its easy to tell why; he looks like some sort of an ancient god-dog that protected the Pyramids or some other ancient, holy site. His paws are as big as a mountain lion’s and he has a gate that is similar to one. His ears have been cropped very close but appear to be professionally done by a veterinarian. He has jowls that he nearly trips over and a demeanor to match- meaning he is warm and cuddly and you can just grab ahold of his extra skin and play with his face-neck like play-dough! Babe is a young lad, probably 1-ish, definitely no older than 2. We’ve had him neutered and vaccinated and treated for a respiratory infection which he has been over for quite some time. He is active for a Mastiff and REALLY enjoys running with me. The open road is were he feels at home and I thoroughly enjoy him as a running partner. He is still about 25 pounds underweight (he’s up at 105 now) but is packing on the pounds effectively. Babe doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and is marvelous around children as well. He is a goof-borderline knuckle-head- but he is very good with all walks of life and intently minds my direction. In fact, he’s incredibly trainable and maintains eye contact with me, always looking for insight as to what his next command is. He’s just a good boy and can be the dog of a lifetime to a lucky family. Adoption applications for Babe can be filled out at Marleysmutts.com.
