Renard/ A.K.A. Rusty - ADOPTED

Renard, who is about a year old and fully house and crate trained, was found in Bakersfield as a stray. A professor at CSUB took him in and tried in vain to find his owners, so he became a Marley‚Äôs Mutt! He has been neutered and is ready for his forever home - this pup is way too adorable to not have found his permanent home yet! We suspect he is a Corgi mix of some kind, and he truly does look like a fox - “Renard” is fox in French! He is quite shy at first, but his favorite spot is to be curled up on your lap. Renard is scared of cats, but would probably adjust to them over time, and does better with smaller dogs nearer to his own size - he weighs no more than 20lbs. He is great with older kids who understand his shyness and to not chase after him! He loves going for walks and his foster moms have both done a great job with him (his first foster moved, so his current foster saved the day and took him in - he and his chihuahua foster brother play together and have become fast friends!) and have said that his personality is the sweetest. Renard would really benefit from a positive, reward-based learning environment. We suspect that his previous home was abusive, as he cowers when approached from above, but he soaks up the love and once you have gained his trust he will be your sweet, affectionate shadow for many years to come! Adoption applications for Renard can be submitted at!
