UPDATE May 2014: Denali has been returned to Marley’s Mutts due to owner hardship and is back up for adoption
Denali is a two year old stunning beauty with beautiful and mesmerizing eyes. Indeed her eyes are the first thing anyone notices about her. Her blond coat just adds more beauty to the overall package. Unfortunately for some reasons she had experienced bad luck when it comes to finding a forever home. She was an owner surrender when we at Marley’s Mutts rescued her from the shelter about a year ago, according to the shelter staff his family did not have space for her. Denali was adopted by a family in Bakersfield which now they are going through some personal hardship and family problems. Her new family decided to let Denali comes back to Marley’s Mutts in peruse of finding a better forever home. Denali looks like a Husky-Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix, thanks to her ice-blue eyes and lovely blonde hair. She is already spayed, and knows basic commands. She is in process of getting crate trained. Denali does well with other dogs, but has a tendency to chase cats which is something we’re currently working on with training. Due to her high level of energy we recommend daily exercises such as running, bicycling, walking to help her relax. The ideal adopter for Denali is someone athletic who is looking for a companion to share and enjoy various activities with. If you think that DENALI would make a good addition to your family, please submit an Adoption Application at the bottom of this page.
September 2013
This gorgeous 1-2 year old girl is Denali, who was sadly an owner surrender because they didn’t have space for her. She looks like a Husky-Labrador Retriever/Shepherd mix, thanks to her ice-blue eyes and lovely blonde hair. She is already spayed, and knows basic commands. She is extremely eager to learn and is very treat-oriented which means she will be much easier to train. She walks well on a leash, is fully crate trained, and is simply looking for a family to love her. She gets excited around other dogs but adjusts spectacularly after a simple walk around the neighborhood with the other dog, so we would probably do just fine with another dog sibling.
Due to the extended time that Denali was in the shelter, we feel that she would do best with a family with older/no kids (or younger kids who are well versed in how to treat a dog respectfully!!) just to allow her to acclimatize to life out in the real world, and would really benefit from daily walks/runs, lots of attention, and a strong pack leader. She was in the shelter for 2 weeks, and had to live with the knowledge that her family didn’t want her, so she needs a calm environment that will allow her to de-stress and unwind!

As with any dog coming from an extended stay in the shelter, we always advise you to seek advice from our trainer, Lisa Porter, if you have any questions regarding your new family member! Issues such as food/resource guarding, marking and separation anxiety are all potential results of their traumatic time in the shelter, and are issues that can be worked on quite effectively.
If you think that DENALI would make a good addition to your family, please submit an Adoption Application
