Sweet little Kenzie is waiting for a new family to come scoop her up. She is a 10 year old female chihuahua with plenty of years and energy left! This sweet spunky little thing came as an owner surrender to our local county shelter and her foster couldn’t leave the facility without her in her arms. She does amazing with other dogs big and small male and female. She loooves to give kisses and has perfect house and leash manners. Whatever prompted someone to leave her behind is a mystery but we sure know she has a bright future ahead of her!!

  • hasn’t been around cats yet
  • walks on leash without pulling and comes when called
  • is housetrained
  • is an amazing dog! From her foster: “She really is AMAZING. I gave her a bath today and trimmed her toenails. Which includes filing them too. She was perfect the entire time. She’s the easiest dog I’ve ever had. When it’s bed time she follows me outside to potty and then goes with me right to her bed in the room.

  • Marley’s Mutts is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization. Marley’s Mutts rescues animals who have been abused as we as animals who are just in need of a caring permanent home. Under California Penal Code §597 (§597A, §597I, §597T, and §599A); Cruelty to animals is punishable as a misdemeanor, a felony, or by a fine of not more thank twenty thousand dollars ($20,000). The following Questions are very important because it helps us ensure that you and the dog remain safe and happy. Please answer all the questions honestly. This information will only be used to find the best match for you and your family.

    Please note:

    Filling out an adoption application does NOT mean you will be adopting the dog you are considering.

    Due to the high volume of applications we will only be able to respond to those who have been selected to adopt.

    We will review all applications and pick the right family for the right dog.

    Incomplete forms will be discarded and not reviewed.

  • Be advised, there is a $250 adoption fee with every adoption. Questions or concerns about this fee can be addressed with our adoptions coordinators when they contact you after submission.

    Also, while we are open to long distance or out of state adoptions, we do not transport our dogs. Please consider before submitting your application that if you are selected, you must be able to come to the Bakerfsield or Tehachapi, CA area to meet with us and pick up your new dog.
