Zach,

Just wanted to let you know how things were going.

We think we are going to rename Sully to Riley– hope you don’t mind. He does seem to answer to it better than when we say “Sully.”

Thankfully, the other dogs are warming up to him. The pack leader, Sophie, totally mothers him and is teaching him his boundaries. When the lil’ rat, Dexter, lashes out, she totally protects Riley.

We’ve been going on a walk each day and he does pretty good. However, he stops dead in his tracks whenever he sees something, which is kinda funny.

I feel bad that he is a little socially frustrated because the other dogs aren’t quite playing with him yet, but it seems they slowly, slowly are begining to. Hopefully within the next week, they will start more and more.

You did forget to tell us one thing: he is a freakin’ genuis! Haha. Well, sorta. We’ve already taught him sit and we tried sit/stay today. He ain’t doing too bad at it! But “shake” isn’t quite his strong point. Hope all is well and adoptions are going great!!

Riley does seem to have a thing for shoes, so we gave him his designated pair.
