Speck, huh? He must be special!
Hi Zach, I’m w/STOP and Sparks set up our website – She did an EXCELLENT job on yours too.
Hi Zach,
Interested in adopting Specker, the 2 year old border collie. Heard about this dog from a coworker who is related to someone who works with your sister-in-law Jackie. Anyhow, maybe my husband and I can meet with you and the dog this weekend? We live in the San Fernando Valley.
-Charity
I am interested to know if Charity and her husband adopted Specker 11. I have never been to Tehachapi until yesterday and only saw Specker’s photo when I insisted my husband find me some ice cream and lo and behold there was Specker’s photo on the Baskin & Robbin’s window. I am a firm believer that our “forever dog” will find us and for some reason I was in Tahachapi and saw Specker’s photo. I lost my BRO (a male Border Collie) on April 24th when two dogs running off leash attacked him. BRO (on leash and on our property) stepped in front of me to protect me and “our” little Parson’s Terrier when the two renegade dogs circled him and attacked him. He was so brave but to no avail. His background was very similar to Specker’s–out on his own, having been in an abusive home, finding or killing what he could for food when he escaped, i.e., raccoons, opossums, garbage cans, etc. When he finally let us approach him he was covered with ticks and “fear”, having been shot at by sheep/goat farmers. We had the most wonderful two years together (after we conquered the heartworm diagnosis)–but, I digress–has Specker found his “forever home”? For some reason our paths have crossed and I am drawn to this Border Collie and need to know that he is finally where he will be happy and safe for the rest of his life.
I’ve just been informed: Specker has been adopted. Hopefully, his new family will send us a couple of photos and a short paragraph about how he is doing!
Anxious to hear how Specker is doing in his new home–any pics to share?
