Hera Has Been Adopted!

This regal beast is Hera and I fall more in love with her every day that she is here (so she needs to get adopted quickly). Hera was found stray near the base of Tehachapi Mountain. We guess Hera to be a 5 year-old Malamute/Anatolian mix due to her sheer structure and girth (not fat at all, just big). Her name was originally Olga, because she is huge (110 lbs), but we have changed it to Queen Hera due to her goddess-like persona and imperial beauty. Hera is the Queen because she carries herself like one and all of the boys up here are in love with her. I’m not gonna lie, I was a bit hesitant to introduce her to the crew because we have several large, young males that like to horse around and have a good time. If we had a fight, it would not be pretty and, let’s be honest, Hera doesn’t look like she can’t whoop some butt!! My reservations proved to be WAY off and our Queen assimilated into her constituency without any trouble. Hera may look like something out of “Where the Wild Things Are” but she is a saint—an absolute angel. She sleeps inside, next to Tug (who hates most dogs), and is the perfect house guest. I could sing her praises all day.

Roxanne Has Been Adopted!

ROXANNE WAS ADOPTED!! She will now bark with a British accent because she was adopted by the Mackay family!! She’ll be right up the street from her old pal, Dewey, and we’ll see her often as well!

Hi Zach,

Here is an update on Little Girl Kelsey. She loves her new home and guarding her acre of land. She is quite the little guard dog. [Editor: Looks like she is quite the little Fashionista, too.] She had her first trip to PetSmart with her buddies Boo (Great Pyrenees) and Joey (Boston Terrier) and loves to ride in the car.

You know that stray little tramp? Well, she turned out to be quite the little Fox.

We Hear from Foo Man Thomas AKA Arlo

Hi Zach,

Foo Man is doing great and has a new name now. His new name is “Arlo.” It took us a day and half to come up with one, but he is responding well to it.

He has explored every part of the house and the yard. Has a new toy and had a much needed bath and did NOT like that at all. I still have my arm however. But he will get use to that. He slept the full night last night (the first night he was up twice). Rick and I are both enjoying him and have a great time with him, however feisty he is for sure.

I wanted to let you know that I really appreciate what you are doing with these pets. I enjoyed meeting you. It was a great honor. And thank you for what you do.

Casey Has Been Adopted!

What can I say about Casey?….He’s pretty much your typical, all-American Golden Retriever—in other words, he’s perfect! Casey is a 2-year-old, neutered Golden who was pound-bound but luckily ended up here at Marley’s Mutts. Since arriving, he has provided a zest that is contagious and an even keel that the other dogs seem eager to mimic. He learned all of the rules right off the bat and keeps some of our newer, less stable dogs in line and occupied. Casey, Dewey and Roxanne have forged a hilarious bond that manifests itself in a near perpetual playtime, followed of course by lengthy naps and a very predictable sleep schedule. Casey would be best for a family, considering his compatibility with kids, but his adoption is not limited to this. He smiles all day long and loves the friendships with other dogs that he has developed up here. In case you haven’t already noticed, I am thoroughly in love with this dog and am excited to see him go to the right home where he can best be of service.
