We picked up these three darling girls at the Bakersfield pound. All three Husky pup are females and were found stray without a mother. That means that they were not weened properly, but not to worry, we are on it. One of our Foster Moms, Christi, is bottle feeding them and transitioning them to a mixture of formula and regular puppy food. One of the girls has blue eyes and the other two have eyes that could lighten as they get older. We are grateful to the staff at the Bakersfield pound for letting us borrow a crate to transport them, as our two crates were already full of dogs. We can’t tell how “purebred” these girls are, but we will know more as they age. For now, we assume that they are Husky pups.

If you are interested in getting on the waiting list, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852 or send an email to zach@marleysmutts.com. The pups will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks.

This angelic little Golden Retriever mix is Stacia and she is 8-12 months old. Stacia was found stray, in heat and probably looking for some action. Luckily, a Good Samaritan brought her to us and we were able to prevent impregnation. Stacia could most aptly be described as a miniature Golden retriever; she probably has some Australian Shepherd in there and who knows what else. Her size makes her very portable and conducive to adoption by a family with small children or even other small creatures. She is a darling little girl who is incredibly enamored with people, so much so that she wants to be close to them at all times. She is still a pup and in her formative months so will no doubt be responsive to training and suggestion. Stacia will be spayed as soon as she comes out of heat and will be fostered with us in the meantime.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this Golden Girl, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852.

This beautiful, black babe is Ebony and she is a 6-year-old Labrador/Vizsla mix. Ebony’s owners lost their home and split up and were not able to take her with. She is an awesome dog with a great personality; one of those dogs that everybody at the park has to come over and pet. Ebony’s got a shape to her and definitely has not been neglected; in fact, she could use to lose a few pounds. Ebony loves people, loves other dogs, loves the water, loves to go for walks and rides; as a matter of fact, she pretty much loves everything. Ebony has lost her home and her family (none of which was her fault) and she deserves to have an awesome family step up to the plate and give her a great home. Ebony has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is a very easy-going dog who would be able to adjust to her new family overnight.

This ridiculously adorable little rascal is Dezy. We rescued Dezy from the Bakersfield Pound when he was just 6 weeks old. We were a little worried that Dezy might have some complications because he was found stray, by himself, and may not have been weaned properly. Our concerns were quickly dispelled after a few days and Dezy has been nothing but a little ball of life. He is SO TEENY (only a couple lbs.) that you can’t help but be a little concerned when handling him, but just like most little kids, he is bullet proof and fearless. Dezy is a non-stop comedy show. He falls off the couch, he uses our 120 lb. Mastiff as a jungle gym, but his most hilarious physical act is running. His legs move so fast but he doesn’t really seem to cover any ground. The rest of the Mutts up here aren’t used to seeing something so small and at first I think they thought he was a rat, but they have since completely accepted him. Being a Chihuahua, Dezy will remain a very small dog and will not top 10 lbs. He has been vaccinated and will receive another booster in about a week.

If you are interested in adopting Dezy, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852.

This lively lover-boy is Austin, and he is a 2-year-old Red Border Collie. We picked up Austin at the Bakersfield pound where he had been brought as a stray. While locked up at the pound, Austin dreamt of running in open fields, hiking uneven deer trails, and romping around with other doggies. His dreams have come true as he is now one of Marley’s Mutts, and we are looking for a home that can provide him similar accommodations. Austin is a classic, smart border collie but ISN’T so neurotic and hyper that he is difficult to entertain. As I write this, he is at the Tehachapi Pet Lodge getting groomed and he will no doubt look even better than he does in the pics. He is also scheduled to be neutered on the 27th of December and will be up for adoption immediately after. Austin is a real “people” dog and does great off leash and in a vehicle.

If you are interested in adopting Austin, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852.

This peculiar little Pug mix is Sid and he is a 2-year-old stray that was found out in Oak Knolls. He actually broke into the backyard of a couple who had few dogs and when they came home, to their astonishment, there was an additional dog greeting them. I suppose he was just trying to blend in with the others and hoped they wouldn’t notice the extra doggy. Sid is not so much peculiar as he is atypical, which is nice because he is a break from the norm. He is just a little guy, less than 20 lbs., but he is by no means shy or intimidated. He slept on my bed the first night next to me and our 120 lb. Mastiff and had no reservations about telling her to scoot over. Sid is a great little dog who acts much more like a big dog than a little guy. Sid fits in up here with the pack like he was born here and is really a pleasure to have around. Believe it or not, he is great off leash and prefers to stay by your side than wander. He is neutered and vaccinated and ready for the new year with his new family.

If you are interested in adopting Sid, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852.

Meet Sammy–a massive mastiff, enormous English, a gentle giant–she is all of those things, but most importantly, she is about as wonderful a creature as I have ever come across. She is, quite simply, RAD!! I love everything about her: her temperament, her size, her pondering gaze, and that she loves to be with me at all times–including bedtime. She doesn’t obsess about me or anything, she just politely requests that she be near me as often as possible. Sammy has changed the whole feel of life up here at the rescue; everybody is calmer, more chill. Sammy is 4 years old, spayed, vaccinated and in perfect health. Her weight, which is often an issue for Mastiffs, is perfect (AT ABOUT 115) and she has great eating habits. Sammy is great with every living thing that I have seen cross her path and she truly gives off a “Buddha Vibe” that cannot be denied.

If you are interested in adopting our sweet Sammy, please contact Zach at 661-972-3852.

Hi Zach,

We adopted Molly, a white and gray pit bull, from you in April 2010. We were all head-over- heels for her from the beginning, especially our Boxer, Dozer. As you can see from the picture, they are still happy and in love and so are we. Thank you again for all that you do and for
helping us adopt Molly.

The Murphy Family
