Meet Sydney, a 2-3 year-old, MINIATURE Queensland Healer. We’ve had min Aussie Shepherds before but I’ve never seen a Mini Queensland. I’m sure that’s what she is though because she has all of the characteristics of a Queensland, including the docked tail and merle coloring. We rescued her from the Bakersfield Animal Shelter where she had been for a few weeks. She was sick and not responding well to shelter life. The shelter staff was VERY happy that we took her because she had been there a while, was sick, and may not have survived long. Sydney’s not your typical Marley’s Mutt, at only 20ish pounds and 1/3 the size of a normal, full grown Queensland, but she has our kind of attitude. She’s incredibly sweet and rolls over on her back when you approach her as if she’s trying to say “I’m yours- please don’t hurt me, I LOVE YOU.” Her best friend at our rescue is Moses, the Big Ole’ Blood Hound that animal control dropped off here. She does extremely well with all of the dogs up here and kind of pals around with all of them. Sydney is EVEN BETTER AROUND KIDS and may have had a family before she was incarcerated. She has a couple more days on her antibiotics but is ready for adoption ASAP. She is a beautiful Queensland but doesn’t possess true neurosis of some cattle dogs and is a MINI version which makes her great with kids and traveling.

If you are interested in adopting our little Sydney, please contact or 661-972-3852.
