This is a courtesy post ~ Sugar (a former Marley’s Mutt) is a sweet and high-energy 4-year-old female American pit bull mix. She is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. She is a small-to-medium sized dog—about 35 lbs—and has extremely short hair. She sheds very little, is housebroken, and is crate trained. She is very loving and loyal, and knows several commands, including “sit,” “come,” and “leave it.”

Sugar has been a beloved part of our family for three years; however, with an energetic 22-month-old and a newborn, it has become clear that her excitability does not mix well with very young children and with much sadness we are searching for a new home for her. We would therefore recommend that Sugar find a home without children (over 13 are probably okay). Sugar also should not be in a home with small animals (cats, dogs, or otherwise), and is extremely picky about the larger dogs with whom she can get along. Most likely, though, it would ideal if Sugar were an only dog. Sugar is a unique and beautiful soul that will bring a lot of joy to the right family. She would thrive in a home with an active and dog-savvy family and with lots of room to run but with a warm indoor bed at night. Please help us find a home for our Sugar girl; she holds a very special place in our hearts and it is important to us that she finds a family that will love her as much as we do.
