Here’s is a one stop shop of everything you will need to know about our adoptions process.

Step one: Find the right dog

See our dogs online or come to our of our adoption events to meet our dogs. Once you find a dog you’re interested in, please fill out the adoption application on that dogs page. The application doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to adopt that dog, but it will give us all the information we need to pick the right home for the dog. Once your application has been submitted give us at least a week to get back to you as we review all of the applications.

Step two: Adopt a dog

Once you’ve found the right dog for you, you’re ready to adopt. In total, this process will take about an hour.

Requirements:

  • You must spend at least 30 minutes with the dog you want to adopt.
  • You must fill out our application
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must show a picture ID with your current address. If this isn’t available, we will accept a picture ID with a current utility bill.
  • You must show proof of landlord approval or home ownership if you are considering a dog or puppy that might have visual characteristics of a pit bull terrier (even if they are subtle).
  • We strongly suggest that if you currently own dogs that you being them with you so that we can make sure proper introductions are done between the dogs and to make sure they will be able to coexist with one another.

Our adoption fee is $250.  This fee includes:

  • spay or neuter surgery
  • first or more vaccinations
  • first or more deworming treatment

Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, PayPal, or credit card payable to Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue.

Step three: Follow the post-adoption instructions

  • We will contact you a month after the adoption to ensure your newly adopted pet is working out in your new home. Please respond to our inquiries within 24 hours.

  • If you need behavior help with your new dog, please email us at Lisa@marleysmutts.com.  We strongly encourage training for all dogs and owners.
